Baptism 6-6-10

Good morning!! I just wanted to share some really exciting news. This past weekend Jacob and I were baptized! It was an incredibly special time for our family. Our preacher, Brother Bill, baptized Jacob first, and then Jacob assisted in baptizing me. I've attached the pictures. (Please note our really awesome outfits -- definitely flattering for a 7 month pregnant lady...)

And to my awesome husband: Jacob, thank you for being such an amazing leader and servant to me and to our growing (unborn) son. I am so thankful that Brooks will have such a Godly example in his earthly father! I love you!

Acts 2:41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day.

Acts 8:12 But when they believed Philip as he preached the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

Romans 6:4 We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

Love, Lauren

Testing 1 2 3

Watch out cyber space -- I've started a blog! We'll see how well this goes. This initial post is me practicing and playing around with the settings, format, etc. Please bear with me until I am able to really get the hang of how this all works.

First things First -- Meet the Family

Jacob. My handsome, funny, and outgoing husband. He is my best friend and I love him dearly. He is the leader of the Davis household. :) This picture was taken on a recent vacation. I love my Louisiana boy!!

Lauren. The wife. Me. The author of this blog...so sorry! This picture was taken in October before the Cattle Baron's Ball 2009. And boy did we have a BALL!!

Madie. The little Princess - our oldest "daughter". She is a nine year old Silky terrier who is not as spunky as she once was, but still, pretty feisty!! Madie loves to pretend to not like her sister, Millie, but she really does love her. She has been with me through a lot and is a very special little doggie!
Millie. The cuddle bug - our baby "daughter". She is a two and a half year old Boxer who is so sweet and expressive. She is definitely the younger sister! She loves following, bothering, and attempting to play with her big sister. She provides a lot of laughter for everyone who meets her.

Last, but certainly NOT least, we have a new addition on the way! Introducing the MOST important member of the Davis family.....

BROOKS BENJAMIN.
We haven't even met him yet, but we are all already madly in love. Both the girls know something is coming and seem particularly interested in his room. We all sense that our lives are about to be turned upside down -- but in the best way imaginable. Brooks is so active -- punching, kicking, spazzing out, etc. I am pretty sure he loves ice cream, so already being the good mom, I make sure he gets plenty.

Welcome to our blog! I am sure in the next 11 weeks or so (until Brooks gets here) I will not post much. This is intended more for everyone to keep up with HIM! He is the front and center now, so until next time...
Love, Lauren
